SALT wins Horizonte-Award
The Jury of Bavaria’s Five-Lakes Film Festival found:
„In a poetic film with impressive images and great music director Farida Pacha and her cinematographer Lutz Konermann introduce us to the filigree world of salt farming in India. (…) The film is exemplary in its depiction of man’s adaptability to nature, showing just a tiny fraction of life on the Indian subcontinent, far from any cliché. The protagonists’ fate is never depicted in a melodramatic way but always very factually. However, the film’s patient pace doesn’t fail to hold suspense, as you never know what will come next. An abandoned tyre, a radio, the ringing of a mobile phone, mostly, though, the labour done by hands and feet – an archaic world connecting with modern times.”
